There’s nothing more exciting than seeing a fashion collection coming down the runway. The music, the lights, the long-legged models … But more importantly, it’s an opportunity to see a designer’s vision come together in one magical moment, to gain a full understanding of the creative process and months of hard work.

This year, for the inaugural 2010 New Zealand Fashion Festival, 16 different labels put on a show like no other. In front of a crowd of over 1000 people, down a runway 50 metres long, to the sounds created by George FM DJs Nick D and Clarke Gayford along with Shannon Ryan of C4, they showed their hottest looks of the season. And the great thing is, it’s all in store now – so you don’t have to wait six months to buy what you love.

The New Zealand Herald Designer Garage Sale has some fantastic deals on the latest fashion must-haves from local and international designers.

One thing they have just released is that six Ed Hardy Adam Saaks Cut Couture Top will be available at the sale at over 70% off!

What’s special about these is that they were cut live, on stage at the Ed Hardy NZ Launch last year by Adam Saaks, a celebrity stylist. Now one of these one offs can be yours!

Anneke Stewart has worked backstage as the official backstage photographer at New Zealand Fashion Week since 2004.
With her Fine Art and Design background she approaches Fashion photography with a highly creative yet objective eye.
Daughter of the Director of New Zealand Fashion Week Pieter Stewart, Anneke has been an observer of the world of Fashion since a child. Having such insight has allowed her to blend into the backstage environment with ease and poise in her work on the event.
The works to be shown at the New Zealand Fashion Festival 2010 and The New Zealand Herald Designer Garage Sale are a crisp selection of images she has taken during Fashion Week over the last few years.
